UK Family & Partner Visas
Key Update: The minimum income threshold for Spouse/Partner visas has increased to £29,000 as of Spring 2024, with further increases planned.
The UK immigration system allows British citizens, those settled in the UK (with ILR), or those with certain visas to bring their partners and dependent children to join them in the UK. This route is designed to promote family unity while ensuring that families can be financially supported without recourse to public funds.
Types of Family Visas:

Child Dependent Visa: For children under 18 or older dependent children.

Key Requirements for Spouse/Partner Visas:
Relationship Requirement: Must be in a genuine and subsisting relationship.
Financial Requirement: The UK sponsor must meet a minimum income threshold (currently £29,000 for Spring 2024, subject to further increases). This can be met through salary, self-employment, savings, or certain benefits.
Accommodation Requirement: Adequate housing without reliance on public funds.
English Language: The applicant must pass an approved English language test (usually A1 CEFR for initial application).
How We Can Help Your Family:
Navigating family visa applications can be emotionally and legally complex. Our team provides compassionate and expert guidance:
Thorough assessment of relationship and financial requirements.
Assistance with compiling robust evidence for genuine relationship.
Guidance on meeting the updated income threshold and required documentation.

Settlement (ILR) & British Citizenship
Achieve Permanent Residence: Securing your long-term future in the UK.
Indefinite Leave to Remain (ILR), often referred to as 'settlement', grants you permanent residency in the UK, removing all immigration restrictions on your stay. After a period of ILR, many individuals become eligible to apply for British Citizenship, solidifying their commitment to the UK.
Indefinite Leave to Remain (ILR):
ILR is typically granted after a qualifying period of continuous residence in the UK under various visa routes, such as Skilled Worker, Spouse Visa, or Long Residence. The general qualifying period is 5 years, though some routes differ.
Key ILR Requirements:
Continuous Residence: Meeting the specific residency requirements of your visa route, including limits on absences from the UK.
English Language: Demonstrating English language proficiency (usually B1 CEFR or higher, unless exempt).
Life in the UK Test: Passing the 'Life in the UK' knowledge test.
Good Character: Meeting the Home Office's good character requirements.
Financial Stability: For some routes (e.g., Spouse ILR), meeting a financial threshold.
British Citizenship:
Becoming a British Citizen involves several steps and is the final stage for many immigrants. It grants you full rights and responsibilities, including a British passport and the right to vote.
Key Citizenship Requirements:
ILR Status: Generally, you must have held ILR for at least 12 months (or less if married to a British citizen).
Residency: Meeting specific residency criteria regarding your time in the UK.
English Language & Life in the UK Test: Same requirements as for ILR, unless already met or exempt.
Good Character: Strict character requirements.
